  7. The SIS Mechanical Estimating system allows a mechanical contractor to build
  8. and maintain a database of components, assemblies, cost prices, and labor hours
  9. to automate the process of estimate takeoffs from architectural drawings
  10.  
  11. From its inception, the software was designed to work from computer terminals,
  12. and the result is an ergonomic solution that requires minimal desk space. Take
  13. off entries can be viewed or edited on the terminal at any time and the need
  14. for an awkward printout of data on an attached printer is eliminated. An
  15. organized takeoff report is printed when entry is complete
  16.  
  17. Estimating and/or accounting can function simultaneously on the same computer.
  18. This gives executives the ability to view top sheets from the same terminal
  19. used to view job cost information on jobs in progress. The cost for extra user
  20. stations is low since only a cable and terminal is needed. A departmental
  21. printer can be used for all hardcopy printing.
